Once again, a Haitian artist has made it to the final round of “Prix Découverte RFI,” a competition that has been awarding new artists from Africa and the Caribbean every year since 1981. In 1988, our very own Beethova Obs won first place, and in 2006 Belo brought the prize home once again. Today in 2015, we need your help to make Haiti the winner one more time. We need all Haitians and everyone around the Caribbean to help support DARLINE DESCA who is the only one of the 14 finalists from the Caribbean, and the first Haitian woman to get this far in the competition. Isn’t this wonderful news?!
The news of Desca reaching the finals came on the heels of her release of her latest video “Sa Mwen Ye”
If that isn’t a sign that this prize is hers, I don’t know what is! We at Woy Magazine would like to congratulate Darline Desca for her beautiful music, and all she is doing to represent Haiti and our beautiful culture to the world. Let’s help Darline achieve her dream. There is one month left to reach our goal!
